Food Truck Search Party 1: Kitchen Eighty Eight

Best food trucks tour

Today is a historic day. Mark your calendars and cleanse you pallets. Today is the beginning of my new epic and really yummy series: Food Truck Search Party! (That’s #FoodTruckSearchParty for you social-media inclined folks…who I love dearly!) This series is a search for the best local food trucks, and it’s a party because food on wheels + family + camera = party. Always. Every month I will search out a new food truck to try, I will drag my family along, and I will share my favorites with you!

I’m particularly excited about this series because:

1. Food. That’s obvious.

2. It forces me to seek out talented food-making-truck-driving chefs.

3. It’s a family party. I like them.

Now for Kitchen Eighty Eight. Where I start my food truck search party. This food truck has my heart. A quick glance at the menu and it’s obvious that this food truck believes in feeding you and feeding you well. We tried the Pork Tenderloin and the Tri-Tip Steak. My personal favorite was the Pork but you can drizzle on a variety of sauces for completely new tastes. And don’t get me started on sauces. A good sauce can get a girl all worked up you know.

The folks running Kitchen Eighty Eight also happen to be some of the good ones. After I found out that we share an obsession for the original Neflix series Chef’s Table, I knew we were food documentary soul siblings. (That’s a thing right?) I’m a food snob at heart (who will absolutely eat fast food like I’m pregnant with quadruplets) and Kitchen Eighty Eight hits the sweet spot of quick/easy and quality food.

My one MUST EAT ITEM? The chocolate mousse. Holy heavens above, it is so effing good. Do yourself a favor.
